In 2018, WSJFC was awarded a Vic Health Active Club Grant to increase opportunities for participation for girls in our footy club. 

 

In 2018 we fielded  our first girls team, a mixed age Under 12s.  In 2019 we had expanded to include an Under 10 team and a merged Under 16 team.  This required increased resources, both in terms of equipment (training aids, trainers kits, jumpers) and  for our volunteer coaches (training and mentoring).

The grant ensured we could offer girls the resources needed to engage, learn, develop and excel.  Both our girls competitive teams (U12 and 16) won a Premiership in 2019.
